General Campaign Information Sheet

  • It's the only PTSA fund-raising activity which provides direct academic support; there is no auction and no sales.
  • Annual fund-raiser that benefits virtually every department and every student at Eckstein.
  • The campaign pays for academic supplies, building improvements and staff support not met by Seattle School District funding.
  • The 2007-2008 goal is $82,000.
  • Mailer is sent out in October to parents and guardians.
  • The Alliance for Education, a non-profit, fund-raising organization which benefits schools in the Seattle School District, provides fiscal administration for the EAC campaign.
  • Eckstein teachers and administrative staff identify and prioritize the school needs.
  • A group of parent volunteers closely monitor the budgeting process and distribution of funds.
  • Examples of funding include:
    • foreign language textbooks
    • science lab equipment
    • math computer programs
    • library books
    • art supplies
    • musical instrument repairs
    • technology equipment and staffing
    • emergency preparedness supplies
    • new blinds for cafeteria
    • office and academic supplies
    • mini-grants
    • principal fund
