THE GREAT MOVIE PROJECT

This is the final project for the Introduction to Technology Class at Eckstein.  For the project you will work as a group of 3-4 students to create and present a multimedia presentation using PowerPoint.  You will be expected to follow a process that includes brainstorming and planning, researching, writing, formatting, revising, editing and presenting to the class.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

Work effectively as a group--everyone should always have a job

Follow the writing process (pre-write, draft, revise/edit, publish)

Your final multimedia presentation must include:

  • writing

  • images

  • sound

  • a chart or graph

  • bibliography

Choose your assignment

  • Be sure you understand the requirements

  •  Brainstorm and decide on topics or ideas for your presentation

  • Write questions to guide your research

  • Develop a vision or plan of the final product

Determine group roles

  • List all of the tasks to be done

  • Assign responsibilities to each member of the group

  • Each person should have at least two jobs --one for researching and one for making the powerpoint

Choose your topic and stick with it

Be adventurous---don’t just choose movies because you like or have seen them

MOVIE GREATS

Research and report on a topic related to great movies. Your goal is to explain what makes your chosen topic great.

You need to give a summary and general information for each movie discussed, and be sure you provide convincing support on why your chosen movie(s) or subject(s) are GREAT!

CRITIC'S CORNER

Here’s your chance to be movie critics!  Choose several movies that are currently playing or coming soon and review them.  You should include video releases too.  Be sure you include the following:

  • summary and general info for each movie

  • your review and opinions based on specific elements (quality of acting, story, directing, effects, etc.)

  • summary of critics review and opinions based on specific elements (2 per movie)

  • showing video clips or trailer

VIOLENCE IN THE MOVIES

Research and report on the issue of violence in the movies. 

Your report should address the following:

  • Include at least 2 examples of violent movies

  • Whether or not movie violence is a problem

  • What are the effects on society caused by movie violence

  • Conclude with  solutions or recommendations to deal with this growing problem

THE MAKING OF A MOVIE

What is involved in making a movie?  Research and report on the various jobs of a movie crew and the process involved. 

  • talk about all the different phases of production (pre-production, production, and post-production)

  • describe jobs involved in making movies (each person can research 1-2 jobs)

  • discuss what elements make good movies

  • common challenges in making movies
