Your fifth assignment will contain three parts. This is the THIRD and final
one, and you should write it in Word and save it with the first two. Just
like in Excel, you will be handing in all three assignments together on the
same document, titled “lastname5”.
This assignment will have you picking and researching a topic you are curious about. You will then have to plan out your web search, find the information, and finally write a one-page paper summarizing and interpreting your results. Good luck!!
Complete the planning worksheet in pencil. Here’s how:
A. Come up with an interesting topic. This should be something you are interested in and want to learn more about.
B. Have the topic OK’d by the teacher.
C. Come up with three sub-topics. These are smaller topics related to the main topic. Then generate two questions for each sub-topic. These are the actual questions you will research. Have them OK’d by the teacher.
D. Finally, come up with a short list of keywords that you can plug into Google. They should relate directly to your question.
Search the web to find the answers to your questions. Use the same searching strategies you have been perfecting, and watch out for unreliable or inaccurate sites. Take notes as needed, but do not just cut and paste information. Also, copy and paste the hyperlinks at this time, as you will be using them for your bibliography. You should look at a minimum of 3 sites for this paper.
Write a one-page paper (max.) on your findings. This should have a clear title, and be double-spaced. Each sub-topic should have at least one paragraph dedicated to it. Justify out to both margins. Check for spelling and grammar!! Do not cut and paste on this paper, it should be in your own words. Include a short bibliography (just the hyperlinks) of the sites you used.
This assignment must be combined on the same word document with the other 2
WWW assignments. Name all of them “lastname5”. All three will
be due on December 19 at the end of class.
