Rome Classroom Based Assessment
Use the classroom books, your textbooks, and the links listed below to research one of the following focus questions:
- Why do we know so much about what it was like to live in the Roman Empire in AD 79, and what was it like?
- What led to the fall of the Roman Empire?
Design and author a layout of a 5th/6th grade level social studies textbook. The theme for your section on Ancient Rome should be based on one of the focus questions.
For the content of your page you will:
- select and describe a time period using specific primary sources.
- interpret the cause(s) for a particular historical event (or related events) in Ancient Rome using specific primary sources, such as written documents or artifacts.
- explain how the time period's geography affected how people lived and/or why events occurred.
